Slowing Down to Pray

Eugene Peterson in his book ‘Working the angles’, devotes a large section on the Psalms. He refers to them as the songs that involve us with a holy God. The psalms are prayers not to be entered into lightly. ‘Praying puts us at risk of getting involved in God’s conditions… often not getting what we want but what God wants.’ This sounds challenging but is rather exciting. Looking at these Psalms may help us to know who it is we pray/sing to, what we can pray/sing and why we should pray/sing. Prayer is a challenge for most Christians. I hope this series may help to bring some transformation.
