Grow Deeper in Christ  - Studies in 1 John

The aim of all Christians must be to grow ever more like Jesus learning to know Him better and trust His word for us today.  In August the church will embark on the studies that the “Going Deeper Study Group” undertook recently based on the Apostle John’s first letter.  He wrote the letter as an old man, part of the church in Ephesus, a church that had begun to struggle principally because among it were a number of teachers who were leading the church astray with false doctrines and who were seeking to lead people away from Jesus as Lord and God.  The content of the letter does not specifically address the false teachings but what John does write about are the great truths of the Christian faith.  These were truths he had learned firsthand from Jesus, truths that he lived by and truths that remain today as central to our faith and discipleship. This is an opportunity for us all to Grow deeper in Christ, as we live for Him.
